Trying to cram centuries of human routine into an hour’s Salon and analyse it was no easy task. Not to mention this time had not one, but two groups simultaneously ruminating on the topic.
Do we start looking at marriage from the ‘it’s a legal contract’ side? Its religious side? Or perhaps the paradox that, although completely natural for two people to want to find harmony with each other, we also question monogamy.
It was interesting to see that despite all the pros and cons, the response to ‘who wants to get married’ saw the sub 40s say yes and the plus 40s say ‘hmm’ and while yes, there are parts of the marriage ceremony that are stuck in the Middle Ages, it seems that we still like the idea but just want Version 2.0.
